Catch champions who changed jobs
A Kestrel build, tested on test data in our own Attio workspace, not client work. The play reads the champions in Attio, checks each one for a job change, scores the new employer with a fixed fit score, and only then looks up a verified work email and one or two more decision-makers at the new company. The test ran on 7 people who had worked at 4 test customers. 4 had moved, 1 new employer passed the gate, and nothing was sent.

The signal
Someone who bought or used your product now works at a different company.
Why it predicts a purchase
They know the product and what it did for them. A company that hires them now has someone inside who can vouch for you, which is a warmer start than a cold email.
How it works
Check every champion for a move
People with champion status come out of Attio with their LinkedIn URL and the old company's domain. Deepline's job-change check bills $0.196 per person who moved, and a check that finds no change is free. A move found in the last 30 days is not checked again, and a mover whose new company has no domain is parked until next month.
Score the new employer before spending
Every new employer goes through one batched Crustdata company search and the same fixed fit score the other Attio plays use: headcount, 6-month growth, last funding, country and industry. Tier C or better passes. An industry outside your target list caps the company at tier D.
Find the email and the rest of the committee
Only for companies that pass: a work email is looked up at the new domain (Datagma, then Dropleads when Datagma finds nothing) and verified, and anything unverified is dropped. One Crustdata person search at the new company looks for C-level people, or Head, Director and VP titles in the champion's function or in sales, marketing and revops. Up to 2 are stored as people on the new company, without email.
Write the move back to Attio
Every mover gets new_company, new_title and job_change_detected_at. Passers also get an entry on the Champion moves list at stage New, one task for the owner linked to the person and the new company, and a note listing the committee.
Build notes
- The test champions were people who had worked at 4 test customers, found through Crustdata's employment history. In your workspace they are the people who bought or used your product.
- The first fit score had no industry rule, so a childcare company passed at tier C. With the industry from Crustdata's taxonomy, it and a staffing company fell to tier D. Re-gating the 3 movers from what Attio already held cost $0.006 for the committee search and repeated no job check.
- Crustdata's company search limit counts rows, not companies. Alias domains and duplicate pages come back too, so the limit is set to 4 times the batch size.
- At the one passing company Crustdata found a founder and some managers, but no other Head, Director or VP, so the committee note holds one name. People data is thin at small companies.
Questions
Why not update the person's company when they move?
In Attio the company attribute on a person is the relationship behind the company's team. Changing it removes the champion from the old account and loses where they used your product. The play writes new_company, new_title and job_change_detected_at instead, so the old account keeps its history and the task can refer to it.
What happens to a mover whose new company does not fit?
Nothing more is spent on them: no email lookup and no committee search. They stay a champion and the monthly check keeps watching for the next move. If an earlier run had already queued them, the entry moves to Not relevant, the open task is completed and a note gives the reason. In the test, 2 of 3 movers were taken back out this way after the fit score gained an industry rule.
